Art for Takayna 2026
In April 2026, I was selected for the Art for Takayna Artist Residency, hosted and funded by the Bob Brown Foundation.
The residency took us deep into takayna, the ancient Tarkine rainforest of lutruwita/Tasmania. Camping amongst Myrtle and ferns, immersed in a place that is in dire need of protection, I made work alongside a group of passionate artists who care fiercely about this forest.
The exhibition runs at the Long Gallery, Salamanca, nipaluna/Hobart — June 11–22, 2026.
My artwork and spoken word are below.
50% of all sales will be donated to the Bob Brown Foundation.

How can you help protect takayna?

Anna Foletta
I respectfully recognise and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which I live, write, play and work. I pay my respects to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and their Elders past, present and emerging.
I am committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their rich contribution to society.
It always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
