About Me

Anna Foletta
I am a Naarm/Melbourne based writer who lives with one indifferent cat in a witchy cottage in Nillumbik.
I write, dance, sing, garden, study conservation, procrastinate and buy books online and stack them next to my bed.
I published my first poetry book an ordinary magic in 2020 and my second book and the moon softly wept, in September 2024. My third book A Somewhat Wild Place is a collaboration with my Mum, Pru Ervin, and is due for release on October 18, 2026. My fourth book is already started and will be due out next year!
While writing has been a life long passion and cathartic outlet, writing bios about myself is my least favourite thing (after ironing and cooking dinner).

Anna Foletta
I respectfully recognise and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which I live, write, play and work. I pay my respects to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and their Elders past, present and emerging.
I am committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their rich contribution to society.
It always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
